PPlayer.org opened

Hey there,

as somebody may have seen, the redirections now points to www.pplayer.org.
This page is the new home of PPlayer and any new news, updates etc will be released there.
The Wiki – now for the first time called “FAQs” is available here but soon on (faqs.pplayer.org).
PPlayer is now downloadable with the latest version here (later download.pplayer.org).
The board is open for everyone – the bug/feature-tracker will be found there – as some other discussion forums.
I’m focusing on putting every feature (wiki, bugtracker, featuretracker etc.., cvs, blog) on this one page.

So we’ll see us on www.pplayer.org

0.9.5 RC4 aka 0.9.5 gold private beta released

Due to same last testing I releasing 0.9.5 RC4 – Its just the gold (stable) version but not called as one.
I want to make sure that the latest changes work perfectly.

0.9.5 RC4:

1. Sliderproblem fixed!!! (finally fixed!!)
2. MiniPPlayer changes
3. Other bugfixes
4. New RateGUI (clearly arranged with new GUI)

PPlayer 0.9.5 RC1/RC2 released

The last days I released RC 1 and RC 2 of PPlayer 0.9.5.
They come with some changes for example a new plugin called MiniPPlayer (MiniMode-style)
A reviped stream-plugin with a new GUI and some improvements.
And maaany bugfixes.

PPlayer 0.9.3 beta available

Loong time ago I posted on the blog.
Some things changed and PPlayer got a little boost:
I just released 0.9.3 beta:
The new version has an updater-plugin replacing the old autoupdater.
The plugin got his own GUI showing latest news and information regarding the update. Now its possible to start an update manually and activate/deactivate the autoupdate function.
There was a bug crashing PPlayer on Startup if PPlayer was installed in a directory with spaces eg. “c:/program files”. That bug got fixed beside some other bugfixes and small changes.
And as addition the updater-plugin is now able to update plugins opening some doors for 0.9.5 (plugin-patch)

Ready for Betatesting: 0.8.7

After releasing 0.8.6 containing a new database, I was now able to create a new nice feature.

PPlayer – Statistic:

This modul logs any song you here and creates a statistic of the collected information.
You can seperate that information in many ways.
First you can choose a kind of info. Most heard Artist/Album/Genre and Track.
Second you can choose a timespan. Lifetime/Month/Week/Day.

The screenshot shows my statistic (its not that big actually).

PPlayer – SongView also profitates of the collected information:

It shows the Top Artist/Album and Track on your updated SongView Profile.

0.8.4.5 beta

Its going on!!
After 0.8.4 RC1 I revived the settings:
0.8.4.5 beta changes

Many new settings are available. The songview is now placed in the settings reducing memoryload.
Its easy to add new settings for me now, so I’ll do in upcoming versions!

Milestone release: 0.8.4 beta

“Long time ago” I introduced PPlayer Songview.
It was avaiable one day after the release but I hadn’t have enough time to announce the release on this blog.
Instead I worked on a better release.
There came many bugs within the new system released with 0.8.3..
Songs were able to be started to play within one second (and less).
Problems within the playlist and the positionbar were created…
And both are solved in the new beta.
I played around with the player and did some “hard” testing switching songs all the time.
But it worked correctly and any song got played and the right information displayed.

I also changed some things in the PlayMode-GUI.
Many people said the PlayMode-GUI isn’t easy to understand.
And yes it wasn’t.
I deleted some useless buttons and added a “Help!”-Button directing to the Wikiarcticle about the PlayMode.
Some innercode things were changed too:
Now its posible to use the keywordsearch for the autosearch (huuh? – take a look on the wiki).
Just enter a keyword like “billy II” and you should get “Billy Talents” second album “Billy Talent II”.
Autosearch will search for songs inside this album everytime a song begins.

There will come some more changes within 0.8.4 but more about them later.

1.0.5 goes Beta

Und kurz nach dem Betarelease von 1.0.4.8 kommt nun 1.0.5 mit nur wenigen aber wichtigen Änderungen in den Betastatus.
Hier die wichtigsten:

1. Unbekannte Musik (für die Datenbank unbekannt) wird automatisch detailiert (sprich mit genre & similar bands) der Datenbank hinzugefügt, dadurch ist der Details-Vorgang der Datenbanksoftware nicht mehr Voraussetzung für einen stabilen Programmablauf
2. Das Popupfenster wurde weitgehend gefixt, es stehen aber weiterhin Verbesserungen aus

Es gab noch kleine Änderungen, die ich hier nicht einzeln nennen werde.

Viel Spaß mit 1.0.5 und gebt mir Feedback damit ich schnell releasen kann.

1.0.4.8 für kurze Zeit zurückgenommen

Aufgrund eines Fehlers beim Kompilieren war die Datenbanksoftware nicht funktionstüchtig.
Die betroffene Updatedatei wurde sofort gelöscht und kurze Zeit später durch eine lauffähige ersetzt.
Ich bitte diesen Zwischenfall zu entschuldigen.

1.0.4.8 goes Beta

Hiermit geht 1.0.4.8 in den Betastatus!
Es gibt etliche Änderungen!
U.A.:

1. Podcast unterstützung (z.Z. nur GCast.com)
2. Einreihen mehrerer Songs per Datei
3. Nachträgliches Hinzufügen von Songs per Datei
4. Volle Datenbankunterstützung
5. uvm…

Leider funktioniert das Popupfenster nicht korrekt aber dies sollte mit 1.5 behoben sein.
